About This Tool

Pick from 13 common WooCommerce customisations and copy tested PHP: button text, checkout fields, free shipping bar and more.

Most WooCommerce tweaks are ten lines of PHP that every developer rewrites from memory or hunts for on a forum. This generator keeps the common ones in one place. Tick what you need, adjust the text and numbers, and copy a single block of tested code.

How to use it

  1. Set a function prefix unique to your site, such as your brand name followed by an underscore.
  2. Tick the snippets you want. Options for each one open underneath it.
  3. Copy the code into a child theme's functions.php or into a snippets plugin such as Code Snippets. Leave the opening PHP tag off for both.
  4. Visit your shop and test the change before doing the same on a live store.

What is included

Button and badge text changes, a skip-the-cart redirect, checkout field removal, a free-shipping progress message, a minimum order amount, product tab removal, a logged-in-only price mode for wholesale stores, shop grid and related product counts, a custom thank-you page redirect, and a performance snippet that stops WooCommerce loading its scripts and styles on pages that are not part of the shop. That last one often saves one to three requests on blog and landing pages.

Questions people ask

Where should I paste the code?

A child theme's functions.php survives theme updates only if it is a child theme. A snippets plugin is safer still, because a syntax error will be caught and the snippet switched off instead of taking the site down.

Will removing checkout fields break anything?

Removing the phone number can matter if your courier needs it. Removing postcode can break tax and shipping calculation. Remove only what you do not use.

Does the performance snippet break the mini cart?

If you show a mini cart or add-to-cart buttons on pages outside the shop, those pages need the cart scripts. Test them, or leave that snippet off.

Is the code safe on the latest WooCommerce?

It uses long-standing public hooks and filters. Always take a backup and test on staging first. This tool runs entirely inside your web browser. Nothing you type is uploaded to a server, so there is no queue and no copy of your data left behind when you close the tab.
